The secret is it’s full-length battens, which lock in the designed shape and prevent the sail from flogging. Even in light air when a conventionally battened sail is hanging like a wrinkled bed sheet, a fully battened Main will hold its shape.

Flogging when raising, lowering, tacking and reefing a sail the prime culprit for wail wear & tear. In a conventionally batten sail this breaks down the sailcloth, especially at the front end of the batten where the leech can hinge back and forth. In heavy air, the full length battens help keep the draft from creeping aft and as you ease the sheet to de-power no longer will the sail flog and snap about. Without flogging – your sail will last a lot longer.

Our unique sail bag with lazy jacks can make short handed sailing easier and more enjoyable. A cruising or racing battened mainsail is easier to handle, maintains sail shape better and lasts longer than a conventionally battened mainsail.
